Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) Adjustment

Dear Customer,
We are writing to inform you of an upcoming adjustment to our Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS).
Although we recently reduced this surcharge, continued volatility in fuel markets and sustained increases in operating costs now require us to reinstate the previous EBS of $375/dry container and $425/reefer container, effective on voyage 334 SB with expected departure from Houston August 26, 2026.
The recent surge in the war in the Persian Gulf sent the fuel market higher, negating our decrease of July 15.
To be completely transparent, once the price of Marine Gas Oil (MGO) in Houston falls below $800/ton, we will remove this charge. You can track the price of MGO on the Ship and Bunker website: MGO Prices – Houston.
